EDITORIAL POLICY
Accuracy, evidence and transparent limitations
The publication should explain not only what it concludes, but why the evidence supports that conclusion and where the evidence stops.
ACCURACY
Decision-relevant claims require direct support
WagerMark checks the exact entity, domain, jurisdiction and date before publishing a legal, payment or licence claim. Material facts should be linked to the source near the statement. Uncertainty, conflicting records and missing evidence remain visible.
Copying another comparison site is not verification. Repetition can spread the same original error across many pages.
SOURCE STANDARD
Primary and official sources lead
Australian legal and regulatory content begins with the Federal Register of Legislation, ACMA guidance and relevant government services. Payment or product details should use named provider documentation where available.
Operator terms may establish the conditions an operator publishes, but they are labelled as operator-controlled. Affiliate blogs, content farms and unattributed summaries are not used as the sole support for a material claim.
AUTHORSHIP
No invented expert identity
Pages use WagerMark Editorial Team because the project did not include a verified individual author, reviewer, biography or qualification. The team is represented as an Organization, not a Person. Individual profiles should be added only with confirmed identity, role, consent and article history.
The site does not claim a separate fact-checker where no verified person and review record exists.
CLAIM LANGUAGE
Describe the evidence owner and testing level
- Use “ACMA states” for an ACMA statement.
- Use “the operator’s terms state” for operator-controlled terms.
- Use “research-based review” when no account or transaction test occurred.
- Use “not verified” when evidence is absent or cannot be matched.
- Do not use “Australian licensed”, “ACMA approved”, “tested payout” or “guaranteed” without direct, current evidence.
CORRECTIONS
Correct the record, not only the sentence
A material correction should identify what was wrong, what changed, the supporting evidence and the date. Related pages, structured data, sitemap dates and internal links should be checked at the same time.
The process is described in the corrections policy. A verified submission channel still requires human input.
INDEPENDENCE
Commercial value cannot decide the conclusion
Advertising or affiliate revenue must be disclosed and kept separate from research conclusions. A partner may provide evidence or point out an error; it may not approve the article, suppress a negative finding or buy a score.
The home page contains operator promotion links restored at the publisher’s request. They are technically labelled as sponsored/nofollow, while the exact compensation relationship remains unconfirmed. Read the advertising disclosure for the current code-level status.
