CORRECTIONS POLICY

Correct the evidence chain, not only the wording

A meaningful correction fixes the claim, source, related pages and technical signals that could continue spreading the old information.

SCOPE

What qualifies for correction or update

  • A factual statement is unsupported, inaccurate or attributed to the wrong source.
  • Legislation, regulator guidance or licence status has materially changed.
  • An operator entity, domain, policy or term no longer matches the cited record.
  • A calculation, link, date, heading, structured-data field or accessibility label is wrong.
  • Important context was omitted in a way that could change a reader’s decision.

Differences of opinion are considered when new evidence is provided, but a correction requires a demonstrable issue with fact, method, context or presentation.

ASSESSMENT

Reproduce the original check

  1. Locate the exact statementIdentify the page, section and current wording.
  2. Review the original evidenceCheck source owner, version, entity, jurisdiction and date.
  3. Compare the new evidencePrefer direct, current and authoritative records.
  4. Assess materialityDecide whether the issue changes meaning, risk or only presentation.
  5. Check connected pagesSearch metadata, schema, sitemap and internal links for the same claim.

PUBLICATION

How a change should appear

Minor typographical fixes can be made silently when meaning is unchanged. Material factual changes should update the visible review date and, where useful, include a correction note explaining the previous wording, new wording, supporting source and date.

The sitemap lastmod value should change only for pages materially updated. Structured data and social metadata must remain consistent with the visible page.

URGENT ISSUES

Prioritise legal, financial and privacy risks

A false licence claim, exposed personal data, unsafe payment instruction or incorrect support information can cause immediate harm. Such content should be removed or clearly qualified while the evidence is assessed.

Do not leave a harmful statement live merely to preserve traffic or a commercial placement.

KNOWN GAP

A verified corrections channel still requires human input

No verified WagerMark email address or form endpoint was supplied. This build therefore does not invent a submission route. The owner should add a monitored domain-based address, publish response expectations and update both this page and the contact-status section.

Never send identity documents, banking records or account credentials to an unverified address claiming to represent WagerMark.
